Finally!!!
Whew! I ~finally~ got my internet to work on the laptop, so I'm back on line. My computer died Sunday night, so I got out my laptop that I've never. I had lost the power cord, so I had to buy a new one. Then I had sooooo much trouble getting on the internet. Nothing seemed to work. Now, I'm not a computer genius by any means. But I have set up a few and know how to do it. But I kept getting messages that it couldn't connect me and that I should check my internet connections.
Seems that it was a problem with IE because as soon as I downloaded Firefox, I was online. So, now I need to see if I can recover all the stuff from my old computer. I'll have to take it to an expert for that. If it's truly dead, I will cry. I have thousands of pictures, documents and music that I will have lost. I can't even bear to think about it all being lost.
Along with the dead computer, I lost access to my graphics programs and to my Tony's Tuesday Review pic spam that I had almost finished. :'( Hopefully I can get something else together before tomorrow night.
Now I need to check my e-mail and inboxes. Then I need to catch up on both Dreamwidth and Live Journal.

*crosses fingers* that you are able to retrieve all your documents, pics, etc. I can't even imagine losing everything on my computer which is why I back up everything to an external hard drive. EHD's are relatively inexpensive these days depending on how much memory you want and it is a life saver in case of a computer crash.
welcome back to the cyber world!

Backups...I'm seriously considering this one. My consulting client has used it for years, and the prices are ridiculously low. They even have a free version!
Good luck, sweetie! I hope you can get everything back without any trouble.
*hugs*
