Lights Out!

I was sitting in the living room minding my own business watching Toddlers and Tiaras Animal Planet when the lights went out. My apartment complex has a ton of outside lights and they were all on. I managed to stumble my way into the bedroom and get my flashlight and cell phone. Then I came into the office to call the electric company to report the outage when I saw that my computer was still on. Strange. I checked the breaker box and everything was normal there I called the landlady next and she sent some old guy over who checked the breaker box, then went down in the basement to check things out.

A little while later, the landlady's son showed up and they both were banging around in the basement. It took them almost an hour to figure out it was a loose wire and to fix it. Good thing I had back oxygen tanks to use. Now I'm a happy camper.

glad they got it fixed quickly and it was only a minor issue - nothing is worse than being without electricity for extended periods of time.

Yes, at least it was only an hour. With all the outside lights all around the apartments, it wasn't all that dark in here once my eyes adjusted a little. I could go without the flashlight.

Of course, after I let the cats out of the bedroom, they spent the next 15 minutes checking things out because someone unauthorized had been in their house! It was amusing to see them slinking around, sniffing everything. :)
