Please Shut Up and Listen!
I think I've ranted here before about my regular doctor and the office's unbelievable scheduling practice. They may be able to book you a month in advance, but never three months. If I have an appointment and the doctor wants to see me again in three months, they can't give me a new appointment that day. They don't have the doctors' schedules worked out that far in advance. SO...they send me a letter in the mail about a month before the doctor wants to see me and then I have to call them to make the appointment. I think I should get a dollar or two knocked off my bill for doing their job for them. But, anyway, on to today.
I saw my doctor in January and she wanted to see me again in three months, which would be April. I called today, the last day of February, and wanted to book my next appointment. The nurse would not shut up and listen to me. She kept telling me I needed to call on the first of the preceding month to make sure I could get an appointment for the month the doctor wanted to see me. I realized her mistake - she saw that I had been seen in Jan and needed to come back in three months. Third month = March, which starts tomorrow. I kept trying to tell her I needed an appointment in April, but she just kept repeating that I should call on the first of the month. I was just about to ask her if she wanted me to call back tomorrow when it finally dawned on her. She made me an appointment for early April, no problem. Sheesh! I wish they would just listen to the patients. Sometimes we actually know what we are talking about.
