Good News
The landlady was here and liked how I had worked so hard and bagged up all the trash. I just cleaned the litter box last night, so the kitchen still smells like cat. She wasn't happy with that. I also didn't get the floors done. I don't have a vacuum, but I told her I was going to get Stanley Steemer in to do the floors after all the trash is out. The garbage men don't like to take too many bags at a time - two or three, so it's going to be about 3 or 4 weeks before the trash is all out. But I'm going to mop the kitchen floor and get rubber mats for the litter box and the cat food and water dishes. Hopefully that will cut down on the cat smell. I'm also getting a better odor control litter. This last one was on sale and it sucked!
Anyway, I have three more weeks before she comes back to check again. I CAN DO THIS!!! I AM DETERMINED TO GET MY LIFE BACK!!! I WANT IT AND I DESERVE IT!!!
THANK YOU ALL FOR ALL YOUR ENCOURAGEMENT!!! I COULDN'T HAVE DONE IT WITHOUT MY CHEERLEADERS AND ENCOURAGEMENT TEAM!!! YOU GUYS ALL ROCK SO HARD!!! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!

SO very happy for you, sweetie!
A note about cat litter...do you use the clumping kind? Seems to cost the same, and in my experience, it really cuts down on the odour, because all the pee is gone when you scoop out the clumps, and you don't have to change it as often. Also, I sprinkle a bit of baking soda in the box every time, after I've done the scooping but before I stir it around. It really absorbs the odours well.
Do you have a neighbour who puts out fewer garbage bags? Maybe they'd let you put one or two extra with theirs, so you can get rid of it all quicker?
Anyway, I'm SO proud of you, sweetie! And I'm sure having nice tidy and clean surroundings will lift your spirits, too. I know I get down in the dumps when my place is untidy (which is most of the time, these days! LOL). Maybe next time you're out, you could pick up an inexpensive little bunch of fall flowers to brighten up your table? That'll polish off the "new look" of your lovely home!

I usually use clumping and multi-cat litter. But this was on sale, so my lovely sister got it for me. It sucks rocks big time. I used the last of it last night, so I'm buying the good stuff next time. I'll try the baking soda, too.
I'm just going to put out four bags and see what happens. If they complain, they complain. ;)
Yeah, I'm going to look for some fall decorations as well as Halloween ones to spruce things up.

I agree with Liz, the odor control clumping litter is far better and does really cut down on the smell.
You got this!!! ♥
